Introducing Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn
A new name for a well known pension fund. Pension fund PGGM has been renamed Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn. The growing demand among participants for more than just pensions was the reason for the new name and organisational form. Over the past few years, various ways of meeting these demands for income products and services have been investigated. As a pension fund, it was not possible under the statutory rules to offer supplementary products and services in the market, which is why it was decided to split policy-making and administration into two legally separate organisations. Alongside Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn, the employers’ and employees’ organisations in the sector have established a cooperative trust under the name of PGGM.

New start
Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn effectively started a new life in 2008. What is new is that we have outsourced the administration of the pension scheme, while continuing to operate, as in our previous existence, on a not-for-profit basis and keeping the cost of your pension as low as possible.

Focus on innovation
A new life also offers new opportunities. Outsourcing the administration of our pension scheme means we can now devote all our attention to policy and focus even more closely on the innovations taking place in the world of pensions. Our participants will see the benefits of this directly in, for example, the communications on pensions.
