List of Investments

Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn is transparent about its investment policy.

To provide a comprehensive picture of the investments, we publish the following five overviews.

(In)direct asset managers and their investment mandates

This list provides information on investment mandates:

  • which Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn (PFZW) has granted to PGGM Vermogensbeheer B.V.;
  • which PGGM Vermogensbeheer B.V. has granted to other asset managers to manage part of PFZW’s pension assets on the basis of their specific expertise.

This split inevitably leads to some double counting of investment values in the list. The information in this list comprises the relevant investment category, the name of the asset manager, a brief description of the investment mandate or fund, the volume of the investment (or an indication thereof) and the year in which the mandate started.

Underlying asset managers in funds-of-Funds

This list contains asset managers who have been selected not directly by PGGM Vermogensbeheer B.V. but by asset managers in funds-of-funds to whom PGGM Vermogensbeheer B.V. has granted a mandate to manage part of PFZW’s pension assets.

This list contains the names of the underlying asset managers and the relevant investment category. The relationship between the individual fund-of-funds manager and the underlying asset managers is not disclosed

(In)direct investments in listed equities

This list contains PFZW’s direct and indirect investments in publicly tradable equities, in each case detailing the name, sector, country and market value.

Direct investments are interests which PFZW holds directly, in its own name. Indirect investments are interests which are held by PGGM investment funds in which PFZW has a participating interest. The market value of each indirect interest is apportioned on the basis of the number of fund units which PFZW holds as a proportion of the total number of fund units in issue.
If PFZW has both a direct and an indirect interest in an equity, the market values are added together.

Listed equities make up approximately 35% of the PFZW investment portfolio. The equity interests are diversified across countries and sectors.

(In)direct investments in listed bonds

This list contains PFZW’s direct and indirect investments in listed bonds, in each case detailing the name of the debtor, sector, country and market value.

If PFZW has both a direct and an indirect interest in a bond, the market values are added together.

Listed bonds make up approximately 30% of the PFZW investment portfolio. The bond interests are diversified across countries and sectors.

(In)direct private investmentsThis list contains direct private investments:
  • which PFZW holds in its own name;
  • which are held by PGGM investment funds in which PFZW has a participating interest.
In the latter case there is an indirect interest in the underlying private investments of the PGGM investment fund concerned. The market value of each indirect interest is apportioned on the basis of the number of fund units which PFZW holds as a proportion of the total number of fund units in issue. If PFZW has both a direct and an indirect interest in a private investment, the market values are added together.
Private investments which PFZW holds not directly but indirectly through investment funds, other than the PGGM investment funds, are not included in this list. Private investments are not usually listed on an exchange. The published information consists of the name and the country of the investment, the relevant investment category and, if possible, the market value of the investment or an indication thereof.
